The Old House is an amazingly well preserved example of a 17th Century timber-framed building and is situated in the heart of Hereford. It is surrounded by a busy and vibrant shopping area and the contrast this fine old building makes with the modern buildings around it, is quite startling.
Due to the historic nature of this old building, wheelchair access is naturally restricted to the ground floor but visitors with limited mobility can take a virtual tour via a computer. This has the advantage of being able to zoom in on some of the more unusual carved features located within the buildings timber structure.
The Museum has various aids for people with visual impairment and a set of coloured perspex sheets that can be used to assist visitors with dyslexia.
