The Calvert Trust is a registered charity that aims to enable people with disabilities, together with their families and friends, to achieve their potential through the challenge of outdoor adventure in the countryside.

The Exmoor centre has over 20 years experience providing adventurous activities for people with disabilities of all types. The centre is a converted Victorian model farm on a 40 acre site, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of Exmoor National Park, next to Wistlandpound Reservoir and a short distance from the North Devon Coast.

The fully accessible centre is registered with the AALA, all activities are onsite and specifically designed and equipped to cater for all. The highly experienced instructors are experts in accessible activities, qualified by national governing bodies such as the BCU, RYA and BHS, and are specially trained to work with disabled individuals. All staff are fully DBS checked (formerly known as CRB).
Half and full day activity sessions are available but these must be booked in advance. Lunch is included in a full day booking and other meals can be added for additional cost.
Activities on offer include Horse riding, climbing, archery (outdoors but in a covered, heated shelter), crate stack, giant swing and carriage driving. There is also a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sensory room.
You can visit on your own (if you are over 18 and can manage your own personal care), with friends, family, a carer or as part of a larger group.
The Centre is National Access Scheme accredited as suitable for a wide range of disabilities including guests with mobility restrictions and people with visual and hearing impairments.
The centre also offer a range of outdoor activities, that again can be booked by the half or full day. For more details please click here to be redirected to their Outdoor Activity Centre listing.

Although I was only here in a support role I found it amazing! I was in a bad accident 3 years ago and spent 2 years learning to walk again. I used to have a very active life, this weekend, I managed to run for the first time in 3 years and go rock climbing. These were things I thought I would never do again. I feel like I have my old life back which I can't thank the Calvert Trust Exmoor enough, words don't cut it. I'm extremely grateful for the time here.by Max Smith on 04 August 2014
